Safe work is for life

Supporting Safe Work Month

With National Safe Work Month coming up this October, it's a good time to think about how you can bring safety into focus with your team.

Safe work is for life, so while this month gives us a reason to shine the spotlight on safety, what we take forward from it can have a lasting impact.

In recognition of Safe Work Month, we are offering two ways to create meaningful engagement around safety, without adding another major commitment to an already busy calendar.

🍵 Safe-Tea Sessions

Live, virtual sessions designed to fit straight into your team's morning or afternoon tea break. No lengthy preparation. Just 30 minutes of practical insights designed to challenge thinking and keep safety front of mind.

Choose one session that speaks to your workplace right now or run all four across October to keep the conversation going throughout National Safe Work Month:

Session 1: The Signs Were There

Noticing what people find hard to say

People rarely say outright that they're struggling. The signals are quieter than that - a shift in tone, a missed handover, someone who has stopped speaking up. This session explores why those signals get missed, and what it takes to notice them while noticing still makes a difference.

Session 2: Running on Empty

The load you can't see, and what it costs

Pressure is part of work. Running without recovery isn't. We look at what happens when demand outpaces the control and support people have, why we wait until the tank is empty before taking a break, and the small habits that restore capacity before strain becomes harm.

Session 3: The Long Game

Why today's pressure becomes tomorrow's health outcome

Very little breaks suddenly. Small adaptations become normal, workarounds become the way things are done, and nobody notices until something goes wrong.
This session offers a practical way to investigate work before it fails and how to face uncomfortable truths without losing confidence that things can improve.

Aligns with Week 3: For the future

Session 4: What We Tolerate

Culture is the sum of what we walk past

Culture isn't what's written on the wall. It's what we accept when we're busy, tired, and stretched. We examine the behaviours that quietly become "just how it is here", how trust erodes, and the one thing every person, not only leaders, can do about it.
