The Challenge: The organisation faced a directive, punitive leadership culture where employees struggled to connect the concept of “care” with daily behaviours, despite strong formal safety standards.
The Goal: To evolve into a flatter, more accountable culture that fostered open communication while embedding Critical Control Management and broader safety practices across the workforce.
The Solution: Full rollout of the CareFactor Program, including:
- 9 × 2-day leadership workshops (169 leaders).
- 17 × 1-day workforce workshops (306 workforce participants).
- 35 total facilitation days delivered on site over 2 months by senior facilitator.
- Critical Control Management messaging embedded within the CareFactorTM framework and a sustainable plan, incorporating practical tools, refresher programs, and champion development established.
The Impact:
- 405 employees trained, with overwhelmingly positive feedback on relevance, delivery, and impact.
- Stronger morale and trust reported by leaders, with improved accountability and psychological safety across teams.
- Workforce behavioural shift: greater confidence to speak up, report near misses, and challenge unsafe practices - establishing a model now ready for global replication.
